Cohen Highley is counsel for Medallion

Counsel for Medallion Corporation is Mark W. Melchers who works with Cohen Highley LLP. This very exceptional lawyer pointedly demanded that I must disclose the NATURE of my exemption to the Mandatory Mask Policy/Bylaw/Laws to him because presumably, he is an officer of the court, and drinking buddies with the Chair of Law Society of Ontario, a Joe Hoffer.

I had no choice but to comply with him, in his role as an officer of the court, The Landlord & Tenant Board.

Good Morning, ########,

You stated in your email below that you believe that you are exempt from the requirement to wear a mask or face covering “due to ideological or other protected rights”.  I ask that you advise why you believe you are exempt – if it because you just do not want to wear a mask, that is different than, for example, being unable to wear a mask or face covering because of a disability.

Also, I want to inform you that the Form N5 that you were served with is valid.  The timelines for termination dates in the Residential Tenancies Act and Landlord and Tenant rules are calculated using calendar days, not “business days”, and the termination date is more than 20 days after you were served.  See rules 1.12-1.16 of the Landlord and Tenant Board’s Rules of Procedure.
